Fox Farm Hydroponic Fertilizer Question

by Kevin
(Port Arthur, Texas)

I have Fox Farm Grow Big and Tiger Bloom for the soil I'm growing in. I'm getting a bubbleponics system and wondering if I can use this with the nutrients or does it (the nutrients) have to be made for hydro?

Answer: Kevin- I just spent a little time researching these nutrients. It seems that Fox Farm makes their Grow Big fertilizer and Tiger Bloom just for hydroponics. Unless they make two different versions (one for soil, one for hydro), I believe you should be able to use both of these nutrients in your hydroponics system. Here are the suggestions for using these two products straight from the Fox Farm website....

For Grow Big

Beginning the first week, use 2-3 teaspoons per gallon. Maintain pH between 5.4 and 6.8. When plants show their first sign of flowering, usually around week 5, switch to Tiger Bloom® and Grow Big®

For Tiger Bloom

Use Tiger Bloom® at the first sign of flowering at the rate of 2-3 teaspoons per gallon of water. It can also be used as a foliar fertilizer; just apply it to both sides of leaves early in the morning. To extend flowering or fruiting, add our Big Bloom™ liquid fertilizer late in the season.

All indications are that they are complete. Obviously, you still need to maintain the nutrients in your nutrient reservoir properly. Detailed information on how to do this can be found on my how to grow hydro page. I hope this helps you out Kevin, and Happy Growing!
