Hydroponic Air Pumps

by Jerry
(USA)

In your Most Successful Hydro System ever, are the air pumps on the opposite side of where your solution is put in the system? and is that what I am looking at in the images?

Answer: Jerry- in this design I drilled tiny 1/4 inch holes in the PVC pipe, which allowed me to place the air bubblers in the "elbows" of the hydroponic system instead of placing them in the nutrient reservoir (where I would normally put them). After using the general design a few times, it occurred to me that having the air bubblers in the nutrient reservoir was not particularly convenient when it came time to change the nutrient solution in the nutrient reservoir.

Having the bubblers installed in the "elbows" of the hydroponic system keeps the nutrient solution oxygenated just as well as if they were in the nutrient reservoir....with the added benefit of never being in the way when it comes time to do a nutrient change. So long story short, yep, those are the air bubblers you are looking at in the diagram.
