The Daily Feeder Re-Design

Hello friends and fans,

It's that time again! Spring planting!

The last couple of years has seen tremendous growth here at Jason's Indoor Guide. More often than not, my e-zine sat quietly in the corner gathering dust while I focused my efforts on answering visitor questions and writing great new content for the site.

Since I've last written, I've added over 400 pages of visitor submitted questions and answers in a large FAQ / Q&A type section that allows visitors to really "drill down" into specific areas to look for specific answers to their (your) questions.

A lot is happening in the food scene as people become more and more informed about their food and their health. So much, in fact, that I could no longer sit idly by and do nothing. Real, driving issues such as aspartame, the dangers of genetically modified organisms in your food, mercury in high fructose corn syrup, food supply radiation levels, and toxic waste being resold as plant fertilizer are fueling the re-design of this e-zine today...

The large trends driving our food production today are the increasing demand for more organically grown, non-GMO foods and an increase in labeling requirements. This e-zine will serve as a platform to explore the driving forces behind these powerful trends, helping the reader to achieve a holistic understanding of this super important topic- FOOD AND HEALTH

Spring is about to Spring!

It's that time once again....in about two months we will be past the threat of any frost (in the far South, this may already be the case). For the serious gardener, this means getting starts ready for planting outdoors.

The most popular plants to start early are tomatoes and peppers. Both generally require 6-8 weeks of growth indoors before they are planted outdoors following any threat of frost. Other plants that generally require starting early include broccoli, eggplant, cucumbers, and melons. Although not entirely necessary, culinary herbs will also benefit from an early start (especially Rosemary).

For more specific seed starting dates, visit my Seed Starting Cheat Sheet page.

So far, I've answered over 400 user submitted questions....chances are, one of them is like the question YOU have.

A Closer Look at Food and Health

The internet is responsible for an explosion in knowledge in people around the world. As people become more informed about the dangers of GMO crops, the industry studies of Aspartame, the deadly toxic effects of Fluoride, and just how untrustworthy the corporations (and the governments meant to regulate them) have become.

I became aware of just the tip of the iceburg a couple of years ago, when I learned how large companies were circumventing expensive toxic waste disposal fees by simply re-labeling and re-selling the substances as plant fertilizers. The full article on this startling truth can be read an my Toxic Fertilizers page. Since than, in the normal course of studying and increasing my own knowledge about the world, I began to realize just how poisoned our food supply has become.

NO GOOD:

fluoride in the water Aspartame (artificial sweeteners) anything hydrogenated

anything genetically modified (fruit fly gene in your corn?) =>more than 80% of all corn in your grocery is genetically modified, and nobody is required to tell you!

lunch/ground meats given virus baths lunch/ground meat irradiated produce irradiated MSG (mono-sodium glutamate) high fructose corn syrup corn syrup dairy/meat produced with hormones dairy/meat produced with antibiotics Sodium Nitrate Sodium Phosphate Potassium Nitrate Potassium Phosphate

The list of things I have permanently sworn off continues to grow, and I intend to make this a permanent section in my e-zine. Month after month I will expose the biggest bombshells and maximize YOUR efforts to keep YOU HEALTHY.
